The story began in the spirit of a young girl who unknowingly stepped into her destiny. While her mother served the country, she began shadowing her grandfather, a then seasoned real estate agent and loan officer, absorbing the hustle and rhythm of his business. Her role as a seven year old unlicensed (and unpaid) assistant included organizing files, crafting first-time homebuyer guides, and answering phones, blissfully unaware that she was laying the foundation for her future. As a young woman, she explored roles in customer service, but it wasn’t until she accepted a leasing position in 2016, that her passion for the real estate industry ignited, setting her on a path of professional growth and discovery.
Over the next few years, she maneuvered through the ranks, becoming a Texas Residential Leasing Specialist, Maintenance Coordinator, and Property Manager, all while working on a greater goal. In 2018, she earned her Texas Real Estate License, a decision that represented the beginning of a new chapter. For the next four years, she navigated boot camp of the real estate world while guiding buyers, sellers, first-time home-buyers, investors, family, friends, and military personnel through the complexities of single and multi-family sales across Central Texas. She allowed her personality to fuse with her profession, turning popular music into catchy songs about real estate, adding a unique, creative flair to her work. .
As a trusted advisor, she learned the art of successfully representing each side of the closing table. With eyes toward the future, she secured her Florida Real Estate License in June 2021, making her a Dual State Licensed Agent. The following summer, a long-awaited opportunity brought her back to her home state, where Tampa welcomed her with open arms, but, as the pandemic reshaped the industry, she found her passion for property management and sales shifting. Yet, she was not to be deterred.
Deciding to evolve with the changing times, she earned a Community Association Manager License. New to Tampa, she learned a different side of property management in a city abundant with potential. Although sales had slowed, they never stopped. Thanks to her steadfast connections in the military and her supportive network of clients, family and friends, she was able to represent her loyal Texas clients and new clients in Florida. As she navigated unfamiliar terrain, she never lost sight of the future. In February 2023, she planted the seeds of a real estate brokerage, not yet knowing when they would bear fruit, but trusting in the timing. In 2024, Emerald Realty was brought to life by Broker-President Asjia Smith. Emerald Realty is a business rooted in faith, perseverance, and a young woman’s unwavering resolve.
God get's all of the glory in The Emerald Story!
